The final virtual challenge for Caerleon RC members was the Land’s End to John O’Groats Challenge #LE2JOG.
Forty club members were drawn into teams of five to complete a virtual geographical leg of the 840 road miles between Land’s End and John O’Groats.
The legs were:
Leg 1 Land’s End to Whiddon Down
Leg 2 Whiddon Down to Stone (Gloucs)
Leg 3 Stone (Gloucs) to Stoke on Trent
Leg 4 Stoke on Trent to Old Hutton
Leg 5 Old Hutton to Abington
Leg 6 Abington to Ballinluig
Leg 7 Ballinluig to Cromarty Firth
Leg 8 Cromarty Firth to John O’Groats
Each team comfortably reached their target with the total mileage over 980 miles completed!. In the end enough mileage to run from Caerleon to Florence! A fantastic contribution from everyone involved and the perfect send off to our virtual challenges that have been so brilliantly supported during lockdown.
August will see a fun challenge for members and their families to have a go at. However, with the gradual lifting of restrictions and with club nights and some races coming back, this will be the final virtual event.
Thank you to everyone for your support and participation.
